Tooth Extraction
Tooth extraction is the name given to the process of surgically removing the tooth from its socket in the bone as a treatment procedure performed by a dentist or surgeon under local anesthesia.
Tooth extractions can be categorized under 3 main headings: impacted wisdom tooth surgeries, complicated tooth extractions and normal extractions.

Why Are Teeth Extracted?
Today, thanks to the contributions of scientific and technological progress to the science of modern dentistry, the primary goal of dentists is to treat teeth and keep them healthy in the mouth, but in some cases tooth extraction is used to protect the patient’s health or for treatment planning.
Tooth extractions routinely performed by oral and maxillofacial surgeons , and these treatments are procedures that require surgical experience, knowledge, and skill. Any routine tooth extraction can turn into a surgical extraction or a complicated extraction. You can contact us to make an appointment for tooth extraction at Ekiz Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic. You will be contacted as soon as possible and your appointment will be made.
Is Swelling Normal After Tooth Extraction?
As with any surgical procedure, swelling is normal and part of the healing process.
Can I Eat After A Tooth Extraction?
You should not eat for 2 hours after the extraction. Then, for the first few days, you should avoid foods with small particles that can get into the extraction socket and prefer pureed foods instead.
How Should I Take Care Of My Mouth After The Procedure?
Spitting, brushing, vigorous rinsing, using a straw, or gargling should be avoided on the first day after the extraction.
After 24 hours you can start brushing your teeth and using antiseptic mouthwash as recommended by your doctor.
It is very important not to smoke for the first 48 hours, as this will interfere with the healing process.
