What are Mini Dental Implants?
Narrow-diameter implants used as an alternative to bone augmentation procedures as a result of resorption (melting) in the jawbone are called mini implants. The only difference compared to standard implants is the small size.
When are mini implants preferred?
- In cases where the jawbone is not suitable for standard implant placement as a result of melting in the jawbone
- In cases where no additional advanced surgical procedure is preferred
- When implant placement with minimally invasive surgical method is desired in elderly patients
mini implants may be preferred.
Mini Implants can be used to improve the retention of dentures in patients with advanced bone resorption.
